Review Summary for Cross Country Electricians Ltd

Cross Country Electricians Ltd, or Crosstech as consistently referenced, garners widespread praise for its excellent customer service, marked by clear communication and a supportive approach, particularly highlighted by Nathalia in pre-installation planning and issue resolution, even outside business hours. Installers like Paul and Dave are frequently commended for their professionalism, efficiency, tidy workmanship, and helpfulness, including assisting with app setup and explaining functionality. The company appears best suited for homeowners requiring EV charger installations, especially those who appreciate a guided process and meticulous installation quality, even for complex cable routing. However, a significant concern arises from a detailed review describing a severe safety issue with an EV charger installation that failed after four years due to loose wiring and an electrical box burning, with the company reportedly shifting responsibility once evidence pointed to an installation flaw. While this appears to be an isolated but serious complaint within the provided reviews, potential customers should explicitly clarify the company's warranty policy, its approach to investigating and rectifying issues post-installation, particularly regarding potential safety defects, and their long-term maintenance or inspection protocols before committing to their services.

From chatting to Nathalia, who arranged everything, to joking with Dave, the installer, we can't fault Crosstech. The whole experience has been great. Every step was discussed and explained thoroughly, including setting up the charging App.Thank you.

I’m writing this review to share a serious safety concern I experienced with this company and to warn others considering their services. They installed an EV charging unit at my home a 4 years ago (The first installation only worked a few days, and they had to come back to fix it). Recently, I found the charger was not working, so I asked two independent electricians inspected it and found that the electrical box inside the unit had burnt. Both confirmed that multiple internal wires were loose, posing a major safety hazard. One even noted how fortunate we were to catch it before it caused serious damage. What’s especially alarming is that the original installation inspection note clearly stated the next inspection wasn’t due until January 2026, so this cannot be dismissed as typical wear and tear. This points to a fault in either the installation or the unit itself — and possibly both.At first, the company seemed cooperative — they asked for reports, photos, and engineer feedback over several rounds, which I provided in full. However, once the evidence clearly pointed toward an installation issue, they completely changed their stance. Rather than taking responsibility, they shifted the blame to the manufacturer, despite the fact that they were the ones who sourced, installed, and signed off on the unit. They now refuse to offer any help, compensation, or even a proper inspection.Their dismissive attitude, especially given the seriousness of the issue, is incredibly disappointing. This wasn’t just a cosmetic fault — the unit was a fire hazard. Safety should always come first, but in my experience, this company chose to protect themselves over doing what’s right for their customer. If you’re considering using this company, I urge you to think twice. Poor aftercare and zero accountability can have dangerous consequences — we were lucky this time, but others might not be.Here are the two of original email replies from them:Email 1: """The reason I am requesting this is that the connections that are referred to and shown in the photographic evidence are on the factory manufactured side of the unit. The connections we make off have nothing to do with that area so I cannot see how the engineers say, if they did, that this was caused by our installers installation four years ago.Kind regards,""""Email 2: """Installers have no duty to take apart and check the internal connections of a manufactured unit, and this would likely cause further issues. Neither did the installer knowingly install a defective unit, nor can they be expected to inspect the internal connections of the manufacturer's unit by opening them up.Furthermore, I do not believe there was any negligence on the installer's part.I am afraid I cannot uphold your complaint. You may wish to take this up with the manufacturer Garo, but we will not be taking this matter further or offering you any compensation.Kind regards""""
