The companies were also trying to push me to have backup batteries which didn't make sense to me as I didn't see us having excess.Eventually when I spoke to Russell, we looked at the option of two Tesla powerwall batteries that charge from the grid off peak without any panels.Once I worked out the financials it looked like a great option that would reduce my electricity bill by 75% (which it has) and also provide a back up in the event of power outages.They came on the day agreed and were very professional.All up and running and very very happy.
