The Solar People are an excellent company. We had been thinking about installing solar panels and batteries for over a year. We were intending to use a local company. However, friends recommended Andy and his team who install solar systems nationally. Before taking the plunge, Andy was incredibly approachable. He answered our many questions with patience and impressive technical expertise.Tom was instructed to install our setup of solar panels and Enphase batteries. He was amazing. Before the installation, he visited our home to assess the roof and location of our batteries. During the installation he exhibited great technical knowledge and he is also has a delightful and respectful personality. We are very happy with the workmanship, solar panel and Enphase batteries. The associated Enphase App is easy to use and allows us to monitor and control the system remotely.Our system was installed some months ago. The after sales service from Andy and Tom has been exemplary, despite the distance between us in Hampshire and The Solar People HQ.Without question, I would highly recommend The Solar People to anybody who is considering a solar installation.

After speaking with Andrew I agreed to progress with installing my solar system,everything has gone smoothly from installation to back up assistance. Scaffolding and installation were prompt and on time everything was clean and tidy, both roofers, electrician and scaffolders were very efficient and respectful of my property. I would recommend us this company for further installations.

Started procedure at beginning October, all complete by the end of October. All queries were answered and with satisfactory explanations. During the whole experience there was no pressure thus removing any stress (treat others as you would want to be treated). Installation was very quick even in the pouring rain. The professionalism shown by installation staff is a credit to The Solar People. Finally, despite this being a serious undertaking a sense of humour was always present. Enjoyed doing business with The Solar People.

Excellent install of 20kWh battery system. The Solar People are based in South Yorkshire, but they were happy to travel down to the South Coast. We chose them since they are Platinum Installers for Enphase and they lived up to their reputation.

What a great company to do business with. Andrew responded to every question immediately, both before the installation and afterwards.The (two man) team who did the installation were very clean, tidy and proficient - and, when they saw a slightly better place to put the batteries, happily moved all the stuff that was in the way and placed it neatly in the vacant space. System has worked perfectly. A great investment.

I really wish we had found The Solar People earlier and used them for our whole installation.We had Enphase solar, battery and EV charger installed by another company (NOT The Solar People) and the installation was fraught with problems from start to finish. When issues were resolved, we paid the balance and waited for the post-installation paperwork. But, despite several phone calls, e-mails and messages to the directors, we received no paid-in-full invoice, no MCS certificate, no DNO commissioning notification document, no building control notification, no electrical installation certificate and no HIES insurance-backed warranty (all of these were promised in the contract). It then became apparent that the company had ceased trading two weeks after we paid. Another five weeks later, the installers officially went into liquidation.Without MCS and DNO documents, it was not possible to get paid for electricity we were exporting to the grid. Over a period of two months, we contacted MCS, HIES, Northern Powergrid (the DNO), our energy supplier, Citizens Advice and the liquidators for help and advice about how to get all the paperwork we needed. None were able to resolve the situation, though the DNO were as helpful as they could be. The whole experience has been very stressful, time-consuming and worrying.We managed to make contact with one of the (now defunct installer's) former installations managers and, for a small fee, he was able to obtain an MCS certificate, building control notification and electrical installation certificate, but he failed to get adequate commissioning documents to the DNO (Northern Powergrid), who eventually advised us that we would need to seek help from another installer....This was when I contacted The Solar People, seeing that they were experienced at installing Enphase systems like ours. The Solar People's director, Andy, called me back and I explained what had happened. He asked a number of questions and asked me to send various documents. It was apparent that he had plenty of experience with installing different types of solar system, he fully understood our Enphase system (with microinverters and AC-coupled battery) as well as the MCS and DNO processes. He was great to talk to.The following day, Andy (from The Solar People) was able to submit commissioning documents to the DNO on our behalf and, one week later, the DNO confirmed that they had accepted Andy's document.So, thanks to The Solar People, we are almost completely sorted out now. We are just waiting on our electricity supplier. I would not hesitate to recommend Andy and his company in future, especially to people looking for Enphase systems.

Sigenergy Battery Installation to existing solar array by The Solar PeopleI recently had a Sigenergy SigenStor 10 battery installed by The Solar People to complement my existing solar array, and I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. From start to finish, everything was handled in a friendly, professional, and efficient way.Andy was fantastic throughout the quotation process and beyond — always quick to respond, clear with explanations, and happy to answer every question I had. The site survey set great expectations for the cabling routes and helped ensure everything went smoothly on installation day.Mark, who carried out the installation, was brilliant — knowledgeable, friendly, and meticulous in his work (even if he did politely refuse a bacon butty!). The installation itself was low impact and fuss-free, and the system was up and running without any disruption. Mark also took the time to walk me through how everything worked, including the app, which made it all very straightforward.Since installation, I’ve already seen a significant reduction in grid usage on sunny days, and I’m looking forward to seeing the full benefit once I switch to a tariff that allows off-peak charging.Andy also made sure I had all the relevant documentation promptly after installation, rounding off what has been a genuinely first-class experience.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Solar People to anyone considering a battery or solar installation — they combine professionalism with a personal touch, and the results speak for themselves.

In this day and age its rare to deal with genuine customer focused companies, so it was nice to be able to find a company that offered a fair quote and included all the relevant information and guidance. Very hassle free and helpful. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Andy Duffin listened to my questions and his wealth of experience and knowledge guided me through the whole process and didn't seem to mind at all that mine was just a small Solar system on a modest terraced house in deepest Lincolnshire.
