I wanted my solar installation to maximise the generation capacity of the south and west-facing roof aspects whilst avoiding unsightly arrangement of the panels. Protection from grid outages was a key requirement. Of the companies I contacted, one suggested only 12 panels would fit on the available space. Even I could tell that was a serious underestimate. Another company stated that 20 panels would be fine. That seemed over optimistic - but fitted in with my 'maximise generation' wish. Both those designs were carried out virtually. Spirit Energy's proposal was backed up by an on-site visit. The subsequent design and quotation, though a little more expensive than others, seemed to me to be by far the most realistic and comprehensive. The stages of installation are covered well on Spirit Energy's very informative You-Tube feed so I won't repeat them here. But I recommend you have a look for yourself. Since commissioning, the system of 17 panels has generated power well beyond my expectations. Very pleased indeed.I recognise all the positive comments of other 5* reviews regarding the installation process itself. The professionalism, skill and pride in the work of everyone who played a part was impressive. If you are considering solar panels, etc, for your own home, you really should give serious thought to using Spirit Energy. In my experience, you can trust them to listen to your requirements, properly advise on potential options, and carry out your chosen installation to the best of their ability.

It is rare today to find a true 5* company but Spirit Energy live up to this accolade. I first asked for a quote when I realised I was using their website and videos to help explain other companies claims and quotes; solar can be a bemusing overload of new terms, claims and counterclaims but Spirit Energy said it plain, and compared products rather than big-ing up one in particular. I therefore was surprised I hadn’t actually asked them for a quote even though they were a local company! From start to finish I cannot fault their service and knowledge, they offered solid performing products with good warranties, matching workmanship warranties and handled everything quickly and efficiently. The quote was bang in the middle, not the cheapest not the most expensive but the best for the good-looking quality Aiko brand panels and high end Tesla battery. The survey was a double check and the installation date was booked. The scaffold guys came a few days before and within a few hours had erected half a house, they were polite and showed respect for my property. Then followed the installation crew, wow, they worked like an oiled machine. The banged around a bit, going in the loft, up the scaffold and working on the electrics…I kept the kettle on and biscuits flowing. Then they set up my app on my phone and said all done! “Can’t be”, I said, it was so quick and without a fuss, I even went to check they’d actually put the panels on the roof, yep perfect, 16 panels and a Tesla battery all up and functioning in less than a day. When they left the only sign a crew of men had swarmed over my roof and house was a couple of zip ties on the patio. By the weekend the scaffolding had come down just as it had gone up. Spirit Energy even have made it sunny since February…it’s now June, what a service, …even with a northeast facing roof I have only used 3KWh grid electricity, the rest has been solar and the battery. They were even happy to help me a month or so after installation (once my smart meter was installed), to suss out the tariffs and set my app to start selling back excess solar to the grid. I highly recommend Spirit Energy as company.

Our experience with Spirit Energy was excellent from start to finish. The team was knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with. A special mention to Tok, our technical design specialist, who was patient, thoughtful, and always responsive. He really took the time to understand our requirements and was respectful of our needs throughout the process. Tok explained everything clearly and made what could have been a complex journey feel smooth and well-supported. We really appreciated the level of care and attention to detail.

What an amazing company, I used them over ten years ago for an installation and needed their support in reissuing a certificate and it was done within hours. When I had a second system installed, for personal reasons I used another company and that was the biggest mistake I could ever make.This company is so professional and always a pleasure to do business with

Excellent, very happy with the installation of Aiko panels with associated Enphase microinverters and a Tesla Powerwall 3.From the initial review and discussions with Nathan through to the survey by Justin and the installation by Ben, Jozef, Klem and Dan, managed by Peace, the work undertaken was of the expected high standard. Late customer changes were competently managed by Peace without affecting overall schedule. Some issues identified during commissioning were equally competently managed and resolved in a timely manner by Peace and Ryan.Another mention must go to the scaffolders. Blue Scaffolding, based in Reading, were efficient and courteous during the installation, paying attention to the restrictions defined during the survey. The subsequent removal of the scaffolding was completed on schedule. Such a difference to some other scaffolding companies we have experienced.Overall, we highly recommend Spirit Solar in terms of competitive pricing, attention to detail and work of a high quality.

I installed with Spirit Energy PV solar panels plus Battery at a semi-detached house. Great experience, from start to finish. *Sales team (Nathan): open and transparent; not pushing specific brand / products - just explained differences and impact on design etc so customer can decide. Good choice of solar panels and batteries - other providers were a bit more brand specific as having quasi-exclusivity/marketing agreements with providers.*Price point: on the low range (if not the lowest) of the handful of offers requested. Spirit provided a third party, roof-specific structural analysis (important for me as having an extension dorm i.e. flat roof section). Also, they had the best workmanship warranty of all the potential companies I checked.*Project management. Natasha did an excellent job in coordinating the whole process. Very professional but also flexible: she dealt really well with unexpected changes of schedule and also took into account customer's preferences.*Pre-installation site visit. I echo the positive comments. Justin is great.*Install. Very professional and friendly crew. All went super smoothly, much quicker (a day and a bit) than anticipated*Post installation. Thick info pack with everything that you need. They provide the longest workmanship warranty that I have seen, but also, very importantly, a third party insurance cover, which gives an extra peace of mind.Only negative is that it took a long time from placing the order to final install. This was a bit unexpected, but explained by the fact that there are a lot of prior steps that need to be undertaken. In particular the two main critical items were the third party structural analysis and also having Justin visiting all sites (this is very good of course but comes with the downside of potentially becoming a bottleneck). Overall: let's see how it goes, if any issues in the months/years to come, but Spirit Energy is highly recommended. Very impressed by their professional job, at such a great price point.

We recently contacted Spirit Energy for a quote for a solar and battery installation. Tok did the assessment and design and although we ended up going with a different supplier we were very impressed with the spirit energy offer. They were quick and detailed and took into consideration all we said about our property and needs and their resources, especially their YouTube video, were really easy to understand and accessible.

We are delighted with the equipment supplied by Spirit Energy - it more than lives up to expectations. BUT More Importantly our experience with the Spirit team has been really good. Everyone we had dealings with followed through on their promises, communication was excellent throughout, everyone turned up when they promised, the tradesmen were a delight to have working on our home. They each took pride in what they were doing. We were consulted on every aspect of the installation and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy with equipment siting and layout. Simply couldn't ask for more.

I chose to go with Spirit Energy for my solar and battery installation because they were a) a family-run business, b) long-established, c) very well reviewed, and d) their technical sales team are "technical" first and "sales" last. The whole pre-sales approach was very consultative and because Archie lives locally to me, he was able to pop round and have a bit of a look to really confirm the options that would work best for us.Our system was installed almost exactly 2 months after we signed up. Although Spirit have their own teams of roofers and electricians, they do sub-contract the scaffolding work. They seem to choose their sub-contractors as wisely as they do their own staff, because JCR Scaffolding from Didcot who did ours were fantastic.On installation day Spirit sent 2 electricians and 2 roofers, and after an 8am start, the whole system was fitted, commissioned and handover done by 2pm. Everyone did a great job, were cheerful, polite, looked after the house, and made everything look neat and tidy.I can't fault any aspect of my experience with Spirit, and I am very confident that if I have any issues with the operation of my system they will be very quick to assist or remedy the situation given the depth of knowledge the team had about the system and its components.

After much to-ing and fro-ing, a very patient Mark helped me arrive at a requirement for 8 PVs, 1 Powerwall 3 and Gateway, and 1 Zappi 2 charger.Project Manager Natasha organised a brilliant team of scaffolders, roofers, installers and electricians to fit the equipment.To complicate matters, we opted for inset panels which necessitated removing the original tiles, fitting trays to the roof, installing the PVs and re-tiling around the installation.More work, but the result looks like the kind of installation our developers should have fitted during our house build.After discussing how we planned to use the equipment, Matt and Simon installed Gateway and Powerwall in the garage and commissioned the system.I've left it 4 weeks to comment but in that time, the whole system has worked beautifully. We charge the battery overnight using Intelligent Octopus Go's 7p overnight rate and drive the whole house from this cheap rate electricity throughout the following day.The PVs keep the battery topped-up and we get paid By Octopus to export any excess to the Grid.Our EV arrived 3 days after the install and the integration of PVs, battery, charge point and EV has worked better than I could have imagined.It's such a privilege to arrive home to our own energy-efficient fuel station and to walk out to a fully charged car every morning.If you're thinking of getting solar panels (they don't have to be inset!) don't hesitate to give Spirit Energy a call. Just had a PV and Home Battery installation made at my mother’s property in Hartley Wintney using Spirit Energy. Extremely impressed with the handling of this mini project from start to finish. First called Spirit Energy after watching a few of their YouTube videos online then realised they are located fairly locally. Mark popped round to evaluate the property and was very professional and knowledgeable in his field, which in turn gave us the confidence to go ahead with the project with Spirit. The comms were great throughout the install from the setup of the scaffolding, installation of PV panels and finally install + commissioning of the home battery. Install was finished last week and we are already seeing the cost saving benefits! Would recommend Spirit Energy to anyone looking to get a PV and/or Home Battery installed. Thanks again all.

Sam and everyone else with whom I dealt are first class. From the first enquiry in 2021 to ongoing queries ( to date - January 2025) about electricity tariffs, EV charger, panel cleaning, extending the system I have received speedy, detailed and helpful responses. The survey, scaffolding and installation work was all done by conscientious people who cared about my property and explained everything they were doing. I cannot rate Sam and this company highly enough and would no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to install solar panels and batteries.

They were just brilliant. From start to finish, I was informed and updated, and the install was performed when it was supposed to be. Scaffolding erected and removed promptly. Honestly, terrific all around - from the office staff to installers.

The ‘Spirit Energy’ team and in particular Justin, Ben, Don and Sam were very knowledgeable, responsive and professional. I obtained three quotes and although Spirit wasn’t the cheapest, it was the one company that gave me confidence.My choice and judgement of using Spirit Energy to install Tesla Powerwall 3 has proved correct.The system is up and running and even the sun is shining.I must reiterate how good the installers were under Justin's direction. Amazingly neat and tidy job.

Spirit installed PV panels, plus an eddi and a zappi, for me. Everyone I was in contact with were helpful and knowledgeable. From sales through to final installation of the eddi, everyone worked to make things as easy as possible. Great product, great service.

Mark Golding, Head of Sales, evaluated our system today with the view to installing a battery. His professional assessment reached the conclusion that this was not the best option for us. The team at spirit energy have been great from the start. We have a flat roof which meant we need planning permission, structural survey etc! Most other companies said we would need to get that ourselves where as spirit managed the whole process. The information provided at each stage was really complete and helpful. We did have to wait a long time for the installation due to their large amount of work, which was a little frustrating bit they were clear throughout about the waiting times. It has been well worth the wait as the work has been done well.See more
