View on TrustpilotReview Summary for Paynes Heating and Plumbing Services Ltd
Paynes Heating and Plumbing Services Ltd garners praise most often for the competence, friendliness, and high standards of work from individual engineers and plumbers, with specific mention of effectively resolving long-standing issues, particularly with oil boilers, and providing good advice. However, serious and recurring problems overshadow these positive points, with communication breakdowns, missed appointments, and perceived overcharging being significant weak spots. Many customers also report issues with solar system installations, including installation delays, engineers unable to accommodate agreed plans, lack of software setup support, and difficulties getting faults resolved. The company appears best suited for routine boiler and plumbing services where a competent individual engineer can make a significant difference, especially if the customer has a direct recommendation or prior positive experience with a specific staff member. Before ordering, customers should clarify not only the complete scope of work and total cost, including parts and labor with a clear breakdown, but also the specific timelines for completion, the exact process for fault resolution, and the escalation path for communication issues, as many negative experiences revolve around these very points, particularly for larger or more complex installations like solar systems or heat pumps.

Had a burst pipe outside called someone would be with us in 30 - 90 mins - not the case - 3 hours. Plumber arrived was there for 25 mins, taped, glued the leak and charged £400. Had to sign ‘contract’ before starting work and strict payment when left. Yes we don’t have water pipe pouring out water but will be getting local plumber back to correct and make good the issue. Usually use Village Heating who are amazing and can be here for hours and charge half the price. Our job with Paynes was a complete rip off.
I have had a solar system and battery installed and would never use this company again. There were problems on installation and teething problems in use. I have found it simpler and very much cheaper to contact the manufacturers directly and not waste time with Payne's. I have had no reply to several emails and have escalated the matter to Stephen Payne the MD. Yet again, not even the courtesy of a reply.I had tried to support a local business but have been very disappointed. At my last boiler service the boiler was left inoperable over a bank holiday.MUCH BETTER AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE. GO THERE!!
After endless issues with my oil boiler and water flow lasting over 3 years….Paynes sorted the issue. It was a long arduous task that was completed for a very reasonable amount of money. I could not recommend this Team more if I tried…..
from Chris matz thanks Alice appreciate you Great customer service Appreciate you 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 10/10
Deeply regret not doing more due diligence before using Paynes for our solar. The installation date was moved at short notice, the install location, which had been agreed with sales person couldn't be accommodated by the engineers.I received zero help in setting up the software for the system having to figure it out myself. The biggest issue is it's near impossible to get hold of them. I've now got a fault on the system and after a YEAR of chasing I finally got them to test and confirm there is a fault only to try and charge me £1700 to resolve.
