Just found out via BG that the IDDEA engineer who installed our solar panels in 2021 and connected it to the mains had done it incorrectly as was connected direct to mains and is classed as an illegal installation. Checks were done previously by the same company to certify the installation was done correctly and it was illegally fitted. We would have been charged fees as a result of this company's huge mistake. It was too late to notify the company as they have now gone into administration but I hope they are not trading elsewhere as who knows how many houses have been affected by this without the occupants knowing.
We are another victim of this company, wish we had read reviews before placing a several thousand pound deposit. We now have no panels, no communication from IDDEA and a lot less money!Awful company
Took my deposit. Messed me around for a year with various BS stories/delays/sob stories and have now crashed. Apparently in administration although no administrators/liquidators seem to have been appointed. Suspect they were continuing to trade whilst insolvent and will be making submissions to support director disqualifications - recommend you do the same. Hope anyone else in same situation paid on credit card and can recover via Section 75 claim. Good luck.
Waiting for battery since August 2022, did pay deposit by credit card. Have noticed new business, Solar Streets, same address!! Have tried contacting them, no answer.
Echo the recent reviews. Placed my order in April 2022 with an installation date of 19th Aug. This was cancelled "due to supply problems from China". Many emails later (always replied to but with excuses) we now learn that they have ceased trading.Unfortunately did not notice that the deposit insurance that they set up also had a date of 19th Aug - for cessation of cover! Lost £XX.Xk.
Paid deposit in September 2022 (in hindsight was foolish to transfer money rather than use credit card). Installation date was originally beginning of March 2023. Have been chasing since then and fobbed off several times. Recent communications not answered until today when I was told they went into administration at the end of April. I don't hold out much hope of getting my money back.
Posted a review 2 days ago. Continue to contact the company with emails but nobody reply. Finally got in touch with someone who said he was responsible for the company. Found out actually the company ceased their business but never told anyone. They simply hold deposits of customers and still no solution to settle issue today. Not knowing what to do now. Even if we change to another company now, the price of solar installation has already gone up a lot! The company is not honest and lies to us for almost a year, keep on postponing the installation.
No contact since 2weeks ago when installation was postponed!They have my deposit which i will now have to try and fight for.Something has clearly gone wrong with this company.
Contacted this company in February (having fitted my panels years ago) to remove and replace the panels for a roof replacement. All was good, made a booking, talked about fitting a battery on replacement of the panels - paid half the cost as a deposit at the end of March and still all was fine. In the past week it has been impossible to reach them, no phones being answered, emails go unanswered. Finally went to the building today to find it all locked up. Talking to the office next door, they closed up last week (end April 23) and haven't been seen since. I'm now looking to reclaim my deposit and searching for another company to do the work as a matter of urgency. To say I'm stressed to the max would be an understatement and out of pocket to the tune of almost £1000 - even if this company gets back on track, I'd now avoid like the plague. I'm left wondering how many others are left owed deposit money and feeling as angry, stressed and disenchanted as me...
Extremely worrying !!!After a great deal of effort, over nearly a year, to get a system installed, they cancelled the installation on the due date.Since then, we’ve heard nothing and cannot contact them by phone or email, despite numerous attempts.At best, this is truly awful management/administration, but more worryingly, seems likely they have gone out of business, which is unforgivable in what should be a thriving industry.Not happy, but wish to alert others.
I contacted IDDEA to try and arrange my SEG payments, as I was having some issues applying for it and they installed my solar a few years back, haven't had any issues with my install at all! I got in Contact to a girl called Jess who was more then helpful, answered all the questions i had and responded very quickly. I have managed to sort my payments out and couldn't be happier! Very impressed with how quickly she managed to sort everything.
Very bad experience with this company. Avoid. Apparently they once had a good reputation. I placed my order in September 2022. They said they'd install in January 2023 and set up insurance for it. Then they moved that date to mid-March 23. 3 days before the installation date they cancelled it. When I emailed to cancel the order and recover my deposit they emailed almost by return to confirm the cancellation. Something's gone very wrong with them.
Absolutely awful, reading the recent reviews makes me wonder who wrote them, there installations seem to have taken place before mine after paying a deposit in March 22. I would highly recommend not using this company. It may seem that the price is good, but if this is the service that provide prior to installation, i wouldn’t like to think what the after sales service is like. It all seems great to start with, but excuse after excuse. If you are thinking of having this company quote, I would think again. There are some great deals to be had out there. It’s worth looking around. I feel sorry for the young girl that has to deal with all the pressures of the customers who make contact. She is just passing over information from the useless team at IDDEA. Please avoid like the plague.
If I could give it no stars I would.We were quoted in March 2022 and placed our order and deposit in June.We were given an installation date for October. Then in September told they had supply issues. Again in Oct still no supply date. Since November no other communication. If you ring and leave a message they don't call back.If you do manage to speak to anyone they do not give factual information.After 9 months we have given up, they have at least managed to refund us within 3 days.We have just ordered with a company who will install on 3rd April recommended by 4 neighbours.
We waited months for an installation which never happened and had practically zero communication during that time. Eventually we gave up and cancelled our order and we have had to wait over a week for our deposit back. All in all a very disappointing experience and we would not recommend them.
Supply issues meant the install was 5 months late but we were kept fully updated with what was going on and what we could expect when.When it came, the install was slick. Again, communication was brilliant throughout the process. Had great service afterwards with a full run down of how it all works.
Looking at the comments on here i think it is only fair to share my experience. The company ( along with others) faced an equipment delay last year which prevented installs.despite the wait the office staff kept us notified the whole way through and answered any questions i had which left me with much confidence!I just had my install done and i must say the panels look really smart on my roof and i am now no longer grid dependent. The teams that came out were very hard working and friendly. Everyone in IDDEA is very hardworking and i paid a reasonable price, paperwork was given to me the following day after commissioning my system.Would highly recommend them!See more
Looking at the existing reviews, they seem a little harsh.I had IDDEA to install my solar and battery at the end of 2021. Everyone was great - the survey was impeccable and detailed. The subsequent installation was professionally done. I had follow-up questions which have not been dealt with, but I can understand there's probably quite a strain at the moment as everyone wants to have solar installed.But the work they did was good. Their staff were/are knowedgable and conscientious.I hope they can get over any hump they may be having. I can understand struggles with supply chain issues affecting the entire industry right now.See more
