I know this review is probably not that useful to anyone in the future since this company no longer exists but it gives me some comfort to know we were not the only ones who have suffered under this companies hands. We had our GSHP installed in 2016 and the planning, the way they conducted themselves and communication was all very poor. They signed the handover paperwork without even speaking to us so we had no idea how to operate the system! As soon as it was installed we had an issue with very low water pressure where we were fobbed off saying it was issues with our water pipes and a problem the builder needed to fix. We spent countless hours and money paying to redo the pipe work in an attempt to figure out what went wrong and when we finally asked them to come and look we revived an extremely rude email from Jill, the director, who wanted a £300 call out charge before they would begin to look at it. We then identified ourselves who are by no means competent with heat pumps that there was a faulty valve that THEY installed. My husband ended up changing this himself and it fixed the problem. They then had the audacity to try to entice us into their very expensive service plan! I’ve had no contact with them since. If the Name Jill Oldham ever appears as director for any renewables company then RUN A MILE
THIS COMPANY IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED. YOUR CONTRACTS WILL MEAN NOTHING AND YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY MONEY BACK ONCE THIS BUSINESS GOES BUST.I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY WAGE FROM SEPTEMBER 2023 AND WAS TOLD I'D GET IT IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. 4 MONTHS LATER AND I AM STILL WAITING AND THIS IS NOW IN THE HANDS OF COURT. TRUSTPILOT WILL ALSO CONFIRM WHAT SORT OF BUSINESS HERO IS.I AM OWED MY WAGE AND WAS A FULL TIME EMPLOYEE FOR 4 YEARS!!!!!! THE LEAST I AM OWED IS MY WAGE, IF NOT MY WAGE AND STOLEN PENSION CONTRIBUTIONS.
Awful, still trying to put right problems 6 years after installation. Thank goodness they're not causing problems if they've gone bust. They do seem to be offering maintenance contracts so beware.
Just realised they've gone into liquidation to do a runner with all the outstanding money and work they owe people.Sadly we're yet another household that has been put through hell by Jill Oldham and Martin Murphy. Air source heat pump system payed for up front in 2018 and there was problems and fault after fault from day one, right up until now in 2022. We've spent countless hours begging and pleading with them to fix their dodgy work and despite a bunch of visits over the years they never have. we've been fobbed off and mislead and rudely patronised by Jill Oldham for years, while we struggle along with a dodgy heating system through winter after winter, her and Martin really should be ashamed of themselves and probably should be facing criminal charges.
Update July 2022Hero Renewables has now gone into liquidation, owing scores of customers thousands of pounds. They were removed by the regulator (MCS) in February due to numerous complaints and an investigation of several installations completed by the company, that highlighted significant failings and non-conformities against the standards. The directors Jill Oldham and Martin Murphy have been dishonest, unprofessional and unethical in their dealings with us. They did not even have the courtesy to contact customers to explain the situation and offer an apology. Jill Oldham and Martin Murphy should be deeply ashamed of themselves.Despite all this, they continue to trade as directors of Hero Direct Ltd - unbelievable and shocking.February 2022In December not only did Hero fail to inform us of their suspension from the MCS scheme, they continued to request (and accept) further pre-payments for the planned work knowing they were no longer accredited. We contacted Hero to inform them of our discovery and to demand immediate postponement of the planned installation works. Jill Oldham gave us a personal, written assurance that all the money we had paid to Hero would be refunded given that no work had been undertaken. We requested a refund a week later.Since we requested a refund) Jill Oldham has not responded to any of our phone calls, emails and letters, and she has not yet honoured her promise to refund our money. We have lost faith in the leadership of Hero Renewables Ltd, given the events described above. Their MCS accreditation has now been formally removed.
Hero renewables are in liquidation!!Only placed a review yesterday about this devious company.. it would appear their reputation and abject reviews have caught up with them. Website now list offices as permanently closed and looking at companies register they are in liquidation NOT before time. The way they act I expect to see a similar company under a different title start up so be warned and avoid any that has Oldham/Murphy involved
The initial enquiry process was fine, and once we paid the deposit a surveyor came out fairly promptly. Shortly after that we started to doubt whether a heat pump would be the right decision for us at this stage (we are having renovations & an extension and after speaking to our builders thought it might be better to wait until we know the heat demand). We enquired with Hero to ask if we would be eligible for a part refund of our deposit if we cancelled and were told yes as the system had not been specified. But despite repeated chasing on our part, and taking Hero to small claims court, they refuse to pay. We even have email confirmation from Hero staff giving advance confirmation that a part refund would be given. The Director has refused our small claim on the grounds that ‘nothing is owing’. We just count ourselves lucky that we didn’t proceed any further looking at the other recent reviews on here. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Worst company I have ever dealt with. It has been 4 years since I started dealing with them during my building project for which they were installing underfloor hearing, solar panels and a ground source heat pump. The installation process was terrible, quality of work was terrible, constant problems with the system. As soon as they get your money they are not interested in completing the job or doing a good job. Communication is awful. The directors are terrible people.Any good reviews are fake, the installers told me this. Avoid this company they could not be any worse. They recently appeared on BBC Rip Off Britain and have also lost their MCS accreditation, but are still looking for new business without telling people.
Shocking company. They did an installation at my property leaving the whole installation not working properly. My house was left with no heating or hot water in February and the whole family were left freezing. This company do not give too hoots about the distress, anxiety and upset they cause through their lack of skill, care and customer service. Been informed that they have featured on RIP OFF BRITAIN for their terrible workmanship and customer service. Look on BBC iplayer Series 2022 Episode 3 about renewable energy - shocking! They state they only have a 0.5% complaint rate - that is because they ignore their complaints.DO NOT INSTRUCT THIS "RIP OFF COMPANY" unless you want them to take your money and then leave you with nothing that works.
If I could give zero stars I would. I have never had such a traumatic and disappointing experience in my life before and that is really saying something. We started with being given only 1 working day of notice that the job was going to begin. Then one of the two installers quit half way through the first day. They removed my boiler on day 4, ruining my landing carpet. They then arrived on day 5 to inform me that the office should have called and that they were not going to complete the installation because they no longer had a licence.I have been left, in the middle of winter, without heating and hot water. I can’t get any updates from them and can’t imagine that any other company is going to want to take on their half finished job.I can only pray that people see this review and think twice before allowing themselves to fall victim to this shambolic company. I just wish I had not just trusted the reviews they have posted to their website.Update:I have just come across a subsequent customer review and the press release from MCS confirming that Hero were suspended from the MCS certification scheme 16th Dec 21. As Harold H describes, I too was subject to Hero not informing me of this fact when they requested and accepted further payments for the job they failed to complete. I am so happy to hear that Rosemary was able to have a positive experience but unfortunately, the rest of us do appear to have been purposefully conned out of our hard earned money. It is a crime to fraudulently misrepresent yourself or a situation with the intention of making a gain, and that is exactly what Hero have been doing.
Myself and my husband had an installation with Hero Renewables last year and I can honestly say 1) The engineers on site were pleasant, cleaned up after themselves and got on with the job. 2) The questions I asked were passed on through reception and I'd get answers back from the relevant people. Even if it took a few days. 3) A pressure issue occurred a few weeks later and the engineer Callam was out within a few days to the property and fixed it.I can see a lot of aggressive reviews posted about this company and I have to say... Shame on you all trying to drive a company to the ground. Some people find that good reviews take too much effort to post so they don't bother around but bad reviews let off some anger which means alot of sheep follow.Just stop and think about what you are reading. Do you really think companies purposefully cause themselves problems ? No. These people are clearly going through hard times and here we have some awful comments trying to drag them all down !!!!!!!!! Trust anyone who says the kinder you are to staff., the more approachable theywill be to help you with any problems !!!!!! #WhatHappenedToBEKIND
This company made (and continue to make) our life a misery. If I could have given this company a minus star rating I would have done. They have totally ripped us off financially and their workmanship is of so poor quality it is unbelievable. We have had to get other companies in to rectify their work which has added additional costs we cannot afford but otherwise we would have been cold throughout the winter...Hero's do not care. I managed to get a picture of some of their work and other workmen when they saw the photos actually laughed. Their Directors (especially Jill Oldham and Gareth Allerton...Gareth even more so that Jill) are awful in their ability to return correspondence/phone calls. Their communication is none existent and it felt they treated us with contempt and did only communicate effectively when they wanted money. Indeed they gave the impression they do not care about their company just their pockets full of money. I'd be happy in hearing from others who are victims of this company and working together
Absolute scam merchant only interested in your money and run by cowboys. Stay away.
Hero Renewables are truly the most shockingly bad company I've ever dealt with. I've already thoroughly documented my issues with them, search for Hero Renewables and my name to find my web page, I'm happy for anyone who's thinking of using them, or who has had similar experiences, to contact me through that page.Luckily I never got to the stage of having anything installed by them, all of my issue were trying to get back a refundable deposit after cancelling my order. They tried really hard to not pay me including ignoring calls and emails, lying to me, trying to charge me for work that wasn't done, and ultimately making a false statement to their bank to reverse my chargeback, an action which I believe constitutes fraud. During this their director Jill Oldham was extremely rude and hostile to me. When I did finally get my money back after 6 months, although they did admit some failings, they refused to answer any of my questions and blamed me for the delays.Despite them largely failing to answer emails or return phone calls while they owed me money, when I finally started leaving reviews they were extremely quick to contact me, first offering me money to remove my reviews, then finally threatening to sue me for defamation with letters from their solicitors. It was of course a bluff, my review was honest and I had the emails and recorded phone calls to prove it, but it shows what depths they will go to.Their dishonestly stretches to fake reviews: every single positive review on their Facebook page was left by employees or friends before they removed their review section after I exposed this, but beware, there are fake reviews lurking elsewhere. And during a phone call, which I have recorded, their director Jill Oldham even admitted some of the fake reviews to me, although she tried to claim it was normal and acceptable.I really hope anyone considering using Hero Renewables reads this and thinks twice before parting with their money.
The worst company by far that I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Please think long and hard before using They are inconsiderate and incompassionate and leave you in the lurch with no heating or hot water not to mention the fact that they have taken nearly £4000 from me for a Solar Panel Installation then not finished it and are now completely ignoring me. They care not. I will make it my lifes work to expose this company and it's directors for what they are to ensure as many people as possible know just what they are like in the hope that this company does not get the opportunity to do to others as they have done to me. Evidence of their failings and email exchanges / recorded calls are freely available on request so you can judge for yourselves. I am also going to seek out other customers who have suffered at the hands of this company. They should not be allowed to get away with it.
This company are shocking. After reading the other reviews it is so like my experience of them. Many issues. This company should not be government backed as they are criminal in the way they carry out business. They don’t answer their emails, don’t return your calls, treat customers in a really bad manner and do not conform with the Consumer Rights Act as they do not take reasonable care or show reasonable skill. Trustmark should not endorse this company. They just want to take your money but do not care about the standard of their work or respond to a complaint. Do not have these cowboys in your home.
