Really good up until they got paid, then they were really rude and didn't want any interest after that. Accused me and our client of lying and denied that they knew anything about the issues with the fire. Awful company
Had our gas fire serviced - the engineer was very pleasant and polite but, the ensuing phone call from the office regarding a query we'd raised was not. There's a right and wrong way to talk to customers. We'll go somewhere else next time.
No after sales service after being told they would contact me for the first service. Condensate pump didn't work as noticed on the eventual service. Now out of warranty so I have to pay, albeit for a fair price but the lad didn't test the heating and of course it didn't work, plus two wires not connected properly and a partly melted side of the pump due to his blow torch! Emergency engineer called as now 5 weeks without heating, his costs £267 in total. I left 3 messages and an email but no response still. I will not use this company ever again.
Very rude and unprofessional, would not recommend them at all. They are nothing but bullies!!
This firm initially came across well with slick salesman and the workmen were nice but it took weeks to install a boiler. There were a number of issues and I had to chase them every time to find dates to return and finish the job. They've not kept to their quote and no sign of any apology with all delays being someone else's fault.
So engineer sent out and took 1.5k off me for the work. He didn't carry any work out. Gasworks are not to be trusted
I have used this company for years but they have gone steadily downhill over this time. The engineers are not really engineers, only OK if you just want something straightforward fitted. I have had some shoddy, thoughtless things done to my plumbing system that have left ugly holes and messes and a shower that doesn't work. The most recent "engineer" spent 10 mins slagging off the work of his predecessors for which I was sent an invoice for a £90 call out fee. The offending shower was supplied and installed by them less than 3 years ago, this is the second pump that has failed and now they are quoting £800+ to remedy their work, plus the before mentioned call out fee. I have tried to have a discussion by e-mail with them but they have not replied. This is how they treat their long standing customers, I don't recommend that you become one.
Always a pleasure to deal with this company. Friendly, knowledgeable, competent trades people. Can’t rate them highly enough
In June 2022 I contacted CrookWorks to get my leaking water heater replaced. CrookWorks informed me that “we can install the water heater in place of the existing no problem” and “We charge a fee of £75+vat per hour plus any materials used”. I agreed to pay £90 deposit in order to book an engineer appointment to get that faulty heater replaced. On arrival gasworks engineer noted that my fuse box power supply has not enough output for the heater. He told me that either he can proceed with installation but he will leave switch off; or I will get fuse box replaced and contact Gaswork once I get a new one installed by qualified electrician. I agreed to the latter option because Gasworks engineer did not tell me that I still will be charged £90 for that 5-minute inspection.Half an hour later I got invoice 39304 showing that £90 has been paid towards call-out call. I complained that I agreed to pay £90 towards heater installation only and nothing else.Gasworks replied “we advised you that we cannot be responsible for any heaters bought directly by the customer. We quoted you an hourly figure to replace the heater onto the existing plumbing and electrics and we always take a payment to cover the first hour/call-out”.I swear that LiarsWorks has never informed me of such a T&C, nor any “small print” has ever been attached to our correspondence. I replied to Gasworks that they stole my money and they all should go to hell. Gasworks replied “we therefore reserve the right to notify the Police and pass on your letter admitting the abuse should we receive any further issues form you”.I asked politely for clarification as of why Gasworks informs customers that they “can install customer heater, no problem” as initially quoted then. Instead of explanations, Gasworks “will be forwarding your details to the Police as previously stated. We will not tolerate any form of abuse, threats or intimidation to our staff.”If you are still reading this, please think twice before dealing with Gasworks crooks and robbers. Now I have to pay £35 more to take Gasworks to court.
