Like most of the reviewers we have also been left with a system that doesn’t work properly, and we were also lied to, by Wayne not telling us that the company was about to stop trading. Surely the government must be able to stop people trading like this, we now have to find and pay for someone else to sort the problems out. It now good enough.
Although a month delayed, our install went well in April 23.In December 23 after a powercut, a fault showed on the SolisCloud software saying that the inverter needed to be reset. The batteries were no longer taking any charge. We had paid for an emergency power switch (EPS) that, it is now apparent, was not fitted. We contacted NWR and they came back early January with some instructions on how to reset. We tried this but it wasn’t successful. After a month of trying to get NWR to talk it through on the phone, they gave us an appointment for 21st Feb. We had no contact from them and, after 3 calls and two emails to them the day before and on the day, we received an email to say the engineer had broken down. What about a good old fashioned phone call?I checked their website, which says they have ceased trading. They now have a number and an email address for after sales queries. An engineer arrived a week later, checked the batteries, needed to take them away to be recharged and has since (a week after) returned them and, yay!, they are charging again and the fault has gone. We were told it’s too cold in the loft for the batteries, so will this problem happen again?Looking closer at the paperwork, a Solis inverter was installed when we were sold a Sofar. We have been informed that it’s a better model, but surely this should have been mentioned at installation? The warranty (IWR) paperwork shows a different company, Cozy Energy. It is this company that provided the MCS certificate. Just a quick reminder to check your paperwork to see what you have paid for!We are still waiting for a response on the missing EPS.
This company has ceased trading (5th March 2024). My understanding is all the directors of the company have resigned. They installed a PV array and battery. I have various electrical faults outstanding that they haven't put right. Like some other reviews l don't have an MCS certificate despite being promised one at time of purchase and subsequently in emails after the installation. I have also repeatedly asked for a MIC EIC electrical certicate but one has not been issued despite showing this accreditation on thier invoice. I have checked with NIC and NWR Ltd is not registered nor is thier lead electrian. This is a sorry state of affairs...
Well reading the reviews we too have/are experiencing everything from batteries not connected we only wanted solar panels as we have a holiday let. And it is now costing us more in electric than before they fitted the panels. Even though the fitting is expertly done no other company will take over the ownership or issue a MCS certificate. Octopus are trying to help get us on a tariff but it is so long winded.
We had our installation carried out by NWR. The installation was carried out in an efficient manner and we were pleased with the team that attended, especially seeing as the location of the panels and equipment was more challenging than usual. Any minor issues at the time were quickly resolved, including an adjustment that needed to be made a week or so later. The system was reasonably priced and seems to be of very good quality. Thanks to the assistance of Wayne and Barbara, we are now up and running with export to our supplier in place. We are very pleased with both the system and the service we have received from NWR.
Well, here we are again because nothing changes. Having actually spoken to the chief man, an engineer came to visit us after many weeks of waiting. Having said he thought there was a fault but not sure what, he went away with nothing resolved. More phone calls , another engineer called . “ There IS a fault; you’re not charging properly and I can’t fix it”. More emails meet response from boss-man that engineer reported all was fine !!! Our power provided have upped our monthly direct debit as we’re drawing from the grid, we’re in line for next to nothing back (not even double figures compared to hundreds before this company got hold of us ) and we’ve spent £10000 to get here. Judge for yourselves.
After a power cut the Inverter showed a red light and the battery did not charge.I sent an e-mail to NWR and also phoned Wayne to report the fault. The call and e-mail were acknowledged but no action taken.I sent a text reminder the next day to which Wayne responded with several instructions as to how to solve the problem. We were able to reset the system after 3 attempts and I am happy to report, that everything is working again.I would like to thank Wayne for his persistenceto solve the problemM. Corderoy
I can support all the other negative comments as experienced a lot of issues since I agreed to buy the system and was installed. This company mislead me about the certificates when buying the system and ignored all my requests for refund. I wrote multiple letters and emails with no proper response other than saying that they are no MCS registered but before that claiming that they will provide this certificate. I raised my issues with small claims and still dealing with it. This company caused myself and my family a lot of stress. Avoid in all circumstances.
From the very beginning I was clear that I wanted to be paid for feeding back into the grid. They assured me that they would fulfil this obligation. The installation was completed but the necessary certification was not forthcoming. The rep did not respond to my calls. The office admin email was the only other point of contact I had. I did get responses from the person manning this email. When the rep finally contacted me he confirmed that they didn't have the ability to provide the certification (which means I was lied to) but that they would by November 2023 (almost a year after installation). In the meantime they would provide a battery at a reduced rate. Well November has come and gone and again the rep will not answer or respond to my calls. The admin email person confirmed that they also couldn't get in touch with him and that they couldn't provide the necessary certification. So here I am, having paid a similar amount to this company as all the other companies quotes, and because of lies I do not have what I was insistent I wanted in the first place. I would not recommend this company. Had they told the truth at the beginning I would have gone with another company.
The instalation was very good. The customer service is the worst I have encountered in my life, when I phone the company up they do not answer 9 out of 10 times, if they do they promise the world but it will not come to fruition. On the times I have had a response they have made appointments for an engineer to turn up but they dont arrive. Twice I have traveled up from London leaving my business to make shore they turn up, and they don't.This company's customer service is extrimaly bad which is a shame because the installation was very good.If I were to choose a company NOT to go with it would be NWR Ltd.
Based on my experience for the installation they would have received 5 stars as it went very clearly, they even solved a minor problem that occurred. They have lost 3 star due to their very poor after sales service. If a problem can be fixed remotely it is done easily. If, however, they need to visit good luck on getting them to come out. I have started in 4 times to get a repair done with no shows each time. We are now awaiting our fifth appointment, not holding my breath either.I would say they have a team of installers and they plan repairs when they are in your area. If an install has a problem the engineers don't bother to do the repair. The office don't bother to tell you there is a problem or even proactively give a new date. They only react when I complain.
I am writing this review as I have given NWR multiple chances to come back to me on technical issues I have been experiencing and they never do. I have had no end of issues getting everything from correct invoices, installation documentation and technical support. My installation occurred in April 2022 and I had several issues thereafter including technical issues which occurred within a year of owning the equipment. I am so disappointed as I recommended several people to NWR after the initial work was done but they treat customers poorly and have questionable approaches to things. I have emails saved and a full trail of all communications sent (dates/times etc) from the very start of my dealings with NWR so my review here on this site should be no surprise at this point.I have recently discovered that the previous director (Danny Welch) was jailed in December 2022 for fraud - I would recommend you research the specifics around this as all information on that can be found online. Please be aware this specific company is NOT MCS certified. That being said, myself and others have been provided with an MCS certificate but it is under another company name of Cozy Energy. I am in discussion with MCS at the moment as to whether what has been provided to me is legitimate and per their rules.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!No end of issues! Constantly trying to delay the installation by months, complained and ended up getting just the electrical side done a month later than first agreed, to then wait another month to have the panels installed. Paid for batteries, for the wrong ones to be brought and installed and paperwork sent for products we hadn’t ordered or received. Paid for bird guard, for it not to be placed round the whole system and we now have pigeons nesting under our panels. Not getting what we paid for in generation as only half the system is producing. No MCS certificate has been provided. Emails sent over the pigeons, to get no reply until we rang. Appointment made to fix and no one turns up. Called the office again to find out it’s closed for a training day. Absolute abysmal company! No communication what so ever. Trading standards and court will be our next step, please save yourself from ever having to cope with the issues we have had for nearly 8 months and however many months going forward.
NWR LTD have now paid me £3000 compensation for my non functioning solar battery. This issue goes back to 2021 & to the poor management of the former director who is now in prison for fraud. The new director is clearly making an effort & trying to restructure the Company & correct the poor legacy of the past, I wish him well in this task & thank him for resolving this issue. We saw NWR stand at the south of England show in 2022. Arranged a quote for solar panels and battery storage system which was very reasonable. The installation date came along and went very smoothly, small issue with batteries which was resolved to our satisfaction. The admin team were excellent and always answered emails quickly. Nick who completed battery installation was very friendly and professional.Would definitely recommend using if thinking of a solar installation.
